The rescue services on Lake Geneva (SISL) have recently enhanced their emergency resources with a brand new Defibrillator offered by the Bertarelli Foundation. It will be used for the first-aid training of its volunteers and available at various sporting and leisure events organized around the lake.
SISL stands for International Rescue Society of Lake Geneva, a not-for-profit organization consisting of 34 emergency units distributed around the Léman lake. Its voluntary members have been helping people and boats in danger on the lake for over 100 years, since 1885.
Their tasks include prevention work and emergency rescue in case of accident, shipwreck and injured swimmers or divers. SISL are also present to assist in the monitoring of various regattas and events, for example the famous Bol d'Or Mirabaud.
