On June 27, almost 1500 people volunteered for the fourth annual Net’Léman, where Lake Geneva is cleared of waste and rubbish.
The Bertarelli family was well represented by Dona and Kirsty, who helped clean the shores of the lake as well as the waters. Their children also enjoyed the morning and learned all about the different types of waste that were recovered from the lake.
In total there were 14 tons of waste found from the 13 different Net’Léman locations around the lake, with over 1,150 kilos in Port Choiseul alone, where the Bertarelli family and friends contributed to the operation.
“We spend so much time having fun and sailing on Lake Geneva that we want to give something back and participate in this experience,” said Dona Bertarelli.
“Net’Léman is definitely a great initiative because it helps keep the lake safe and clean. As well as this, it reminds us, and teaches the kids, how to take care of our environment, and how uncontrolled waste and pollution can have a terrible impact in a place that we enjoy so much”.
